Maria Bunea was born in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, and started to play guitar at the age of 12. After graduating from high school in Chisinau, she continued her studies at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg, with Susana Prieto and Alexis Muzurakis. She is currently studying at the University of music and performing arts in Vienna, in the class of Adriano del Sal. She is interested in historical performance practice, and is also taking
classes with Luciano Contini (lute) and Brigitte Zaczek (romantic guitar).
Maria is the winner of international competitions and took masterclasses
with renowned teachers across Europe.
